My research is centred around Banach algebras of operators on Banach spaces. In particular, I have studied the lattice of closed ideals and the K-theory of such algebras.

- This term I am teaching a graduate course entitled "Banach spaces and their operators" through the UK "MAGIC" network. Consult its home page for further information. I am also teaching a 2nd-year undergraduate course on ring theory; it has a home page, too, but it is accessible only through the Lancaster University Virtual Learning Environment, that is, only for the students enrolled in it.
