PhD in Statistics
Statistical research at Lancaster emphasises both the development of new methodology and problems of application in the natural, social and biomedical sciences. So whether you are keen on the theoretical aspect of statistical methodology, or you prefer more applied work often in collaboration with scientists from other disciplines, statistics may have something to offer you! Our PhD programme runs for 3 years; however, for students from outside of the UK who do not already possess a UK MSc we offer a four year Integrated PhD programme of study.
Lancaster University is a beautiful campus situated on the outskirts of the historic city of Lancaster. Our location provides students easy access to the idyllic Lake District as well as the lively cities of Manchester and Liverpool. As a PhD student you will be encouraged to attend conferences and will be provided with a laptop computer for the duration of your study.
