Why Lancaster?
Quality teaching in a thriving research environment
The Statistics group at Lancaster is one of the leading research groups in Statistics in the UK. This can be seen by our 6* rating in the 2001 RAE, and the evidence of quality publications since 2001. In particular we have had more RSS read papers and papers in the leading statistics journals than any other department in the UK. (Details)
We are also part of the Lancaster-Warwick node of the ESRC’s National Centre for Research Methods, with a focus on developing statistical models for developmental and social change, specifically related to criminology, psychology and sociology, but also encompassing methodological and computational issues.
Given staff expertise in statistical methods and its application in substantive fields, Lancaster University is ideally placed to provide a course in Quantitative Methods.
