David Lucy (academic staff, centre for applied statistics, postgraduate statistics centre)

After graduating with a degree in Archaeological Sciences I fell into statistics by completing for a Ph.D. in calibration methods and adult human age estimation. Since then I have studied calibration methods for climate reconstruction, and became involved with forensic statistics at Edinburgh University.

Research Interests

  • The basis and nature of evidence.
  • Multivariate problems of `matching'.
  • Use of graphical modelling for dimensional reduction.

Personal Interests

  • Model engineering.
  • Gardening.
  • Radio Four.
