RSS Guy Medal in Bronze Awarded to Former PhD Student
Omiros Papaspiliopoulos is awarded RSS Guy medal in Bronze.
Ex-Lancaster PhD student, Omiros Papaspiliopoulos, has been awarded the 2010 Royal Statistical Society's Guy Medal in Bronze. This award is arguably the most prestigious early career award for research in statistics in the UK.
Much of Omiros's research was carried out while at Lancaster, including his 2006 read paper, Exact and computationally efficient likelihood-based inference for discretely observed diffusions (with A Beskos, GO Roberts, and P Fearnhead)
