Maths Email Mailing Lists
The department has a number of mailing lists provided by the ISS majordomo system.
These lists aim to cover the distinct sections of the department with a smaller number of lists formed from combinations of these.
- How do I get added to a Mailing List?
- Members of the department are subscribed to a relevant section list by The Computer Support Team when they arrive.
- How do I find out who is on a Mailing List?
- To find out who's included in a mailing list send an email to majordomo@lists.lancs.ac.uk with the command "who name of mailinglist" in the body of the email.
- How do I send an email to a Mailing List?
- The email address of a list is <list name>@lists.lancs.ac.uk so to send to the stats-lecs list you would use the address stats-lecs@lists.lancs.ac.uk. You can also click on the email links in the table below.
- Which Mailing List should I use?
- Generally it is more useful when sending out emails to use one of the combined lists unless you specifically need to target a given section. So for example, coffee time announcements would go to maths where as cas-lecs would be used for discussing teaching in CAS.
