A quantum random walk may be considered as a simple model for a physical system undergoing repeated interactions with a stream of identical particles. We show that such a walk may be expressed in terms of ''toy'' quantum stochastic integrals (that is, sums) and, with suitable scaling, there is strong convergence to a quantum stochastic cocycle, at least when the particle space is finite dimensional.
