A general HELP inequality connected with symmetric operators

In this talk I will consider generalisations of a classical integral inequality of Hardy and Littlewood. The most general form is connected with symmetric operators in a Hilbert space, from which various new and old integral and series inequalities can be derived. Moreover, connections with the spectrum of self-adjoint extensions of the symmetric operator are discussed.
